Printmaking workshops outside the studio
I regularly use my portable press to deliver print workshops with schools, universities, community groups, memory cafes, festivals. Here are some images from workshops over the past few years. They’ve taken place in village halls, outdoors, under gazebos and in schools or studios. Get in touch if you would like me to run a printmaking workshop with your group or would like to collaborate on a project.
Insect monoprints with Year 7 at CGS
This monoprint workshop took place at Colyton Grammar with three Year 7 classes during their art lessons. Students designed their own playful and colourful textured insects using plant materials and textures from the scrapstore.

RIddle 57: print/ bookmaking workshops
Using our Riddle 57 Project I led a series of workshops with primary schools to explore the materiality of books., print and paper. The workshops investigated how literature and text can be enriched by the physical qualities of a book.
Each pupil made their own miniature ‘flag book’ inspired by The Exeter Book, the 1,000-year-old anthology of Anglo Saxon poetry. They explored possible solutions to ‘Riddle 57’. The children ‘played’ the interactive riddle created by Double Elephant Print Workshop in partnership with poet Jacob Polley and medievalists Prof Chris Jones and Dr Megan Cavell.
They also experimented with Oak Gall ink and Cuttlefish ink on different papers, vellum and parchment, using quills and reed pens. We finished the session with decorating the books using (imitation) gold, silver and copper leaf.

Muse: Makers in Museums
As part of the Muse: Makers In Museums project, I was artist in residence at Axminster Heritage Centre. Using an 18th century Axminster Carpet as inspiration for new work, I ran printmaking and animation workshops (with animator Anna Aroussi) for families, volunteers and local primary schools combining printmaking and animation to explore historical carpet design, patterns and dyes.

ARMA Residency at The Art Room
I was recipient of the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award. which was then managed by Modern Art Oxford, ARMA and The Art Room charity. This ten week residency took place at Rose Hill Primary where I worked with pupils to create their own individual portfolios of original prints. We also collectively screenprinted magnetic wallpaper design based on their favourite stories.
